For industries with stringent requirements for compressed air, such as food and beverage and medical industries, air purity is far more important than efficiency. Therefore, these industries do not prioritize oil-free compressors.

Oil-injected screw air compressors and oil-free air compressors differ not only in the quality of compressed air and operating efficiency, but also in some external designs and internal structures. Relatively speaking, oil-free air compressors typically employ a simpler design because they need to ensure that the compressed air does not produce oil contamination. In contrast, oil-injected screw air compressors usually have a more complex design, which provides better lubrication for the equipment.

In the production processes of these industries, if oil-free air gets mixed in during the production stages involving air compressors, the resulting losses to the entire project can be irreparable. Therefore, for these industries, oil-free air compressors are undoubtedly the first choice. Furthermore, oil-free air compressors are also an ideal choice for precision manufacturing or industries requiring experimental environments. However, in many more conventional industries, the application of oil-injected screw air compressors is more common. Due to their lubrication system, oil-injected air compressors can operate continuously, and they are more suitable for large industrial facilities.

5. Service life and maintenance

During operation, oil-injected screw air compressors experience reduced internal wear due to the presence of lubricant, resulting in a longer service life. Oil-free air compressors, lacking lubricant, experience higher wear during operation, leading to more frequent maintenance and component replacements.

The choice of which type of air compressor to use depends on the specific application requirements and the quality requirements of the compressed air. For applications requiring high-purity gas or high operating efficiency, oil-injected screw air compressors may be a better choice. When selecting an air compressor, factors such as compressed air quality, operating efficiency, maintenance, and lifespan should be comprehensively considered to ensure that the chosen compressor meets actual needs and provides reliable performance.
